Conference of Government Experts

on the Reaffirmation and Development of International Humanitarian Law Applicable in Armed Conflicts

Geneva, 24 May - 12 June 1971

Experts from thirty-nine countries participated in this conference, which was convened by the International Committee of the Red Cross, to draft supplementary rules for the law of armed conflict. The eight-volume collection of materials from this conference has been reproduced as fully searchable text for this site with the permission of the Regional Delegation for the United States and Canada of the International Committee of the Red Cross.
