U.S. Marine Barracks

On October 3, 1983, a suicide truck bomb was driven into the First Battalion, 8th Marines Headquarters building in Beirut, Lebanon. The resulting explosion and collapse of the building killed two hundred forty-one Marines, Sailors and Soldiers.
