Established in 1975 with the aim of building an industrial base for the development of advanced military industries, AOI employs about 18,000 highly qualified workers, who can carry out, design and research projects for new products and solve production problems. It possesses an advanced base of high - technological capabilities, and comprehensive quality control systems which are periodically reviewed by governmental authorities dealing with AOI.

Geological survey of Egypt (EGSMA), is one of the oldest in the world and the first to be established in the whole Africa and Middle East, in the year 1896. Its mission is to geologically map Egypt and to discover; explore and assess its mineral wealth for the benefit of the national economy.
