The State of Qatar is a country of eastern Arabia on a peninsula
in the southwest Persian Gulf. The State of Qatar is a sovereign
and independent state ruled by Al Thani. Doha is its capital
and the largest city. Islam is the official religion of the country.
Qatar is an important oil producing country, and it is a member
of the OPEC organization. It is also a member of the Arab League.
Oil and natural gas revenues enable Qatar to have a high per
capita income and place it among the rich countries.
