This pathfinder contains electronic resources relating to scientific and technological sites of Brazil. For information about additional resources at the Library of Congress, consult its online catalog (http://catalog.loc.gov). The most important source for bibliography of books and articles in the humanities and social sciences concerning Brazil is the annual Handbook of Latin American Studies (http://lcweb2.loc.gov/hlas/) produced by over 130 contributing editors under the editorship of the Hispanic Division of the Library of Congress. The Handbook is available in selected libraries in book form.   One of the major aggregators for links to a wide variety of subjects relating to Brazilian science and technology is the University of Texas' LANIC (http://lanic.utexas.edu/la/brazil/science/).

General information on the Alcantara rocket launch station. Includes history, operations, views, its relationship with other stations throughout the world and associated links. In Portuguese.

DEPARTAMENTO DE COOPERAÇÃO CIENTÍFICA, TÉCNICA E TECNOLÓGICA : MRE  (http://www.dct.mre.gov.br)
Provides history, description, activities, structure and functions of the Department of Scientific, Technical and Technological Cooperation of the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Relations. In Portuguese, with some links in English.

INSTITUTO NACIONAL DE PESQUISAS ESPACIAIS  (http://www.inpe.br/)

An electronic virtual library covering a selected collection of Brazilian scientific journals. Provides access to full text of articles through SciELO interface with title browse, author index, and subject index.
