The most important source for bibliography of books and articles concerning the U.S. Virgin Islands is the annual Handbook of Latin American Studies (http://lcweb2.loc.gov/hlas/) produced by over 130 contributing editors under the editorship of the Hispanic Division of the Library of Congress. The Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands ( CFVI ) was established in 1990 with an endowment. CFVI equally distributes grants, awards and scholarships across St. Croix, St. Thomas and St. John.

VIRGIN ISLANDS HUMANITIES COUNCIL  (http://www.vihumanities.org/)
The Virgin Islands Humanities Council (VIHC) is a private, nonprofit organization affiliated with the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), a federal agency. This agency, established by Congress in 1965, supports research, education, and the promotion of public projects in the humanities. Governed by a thirteen-member volunteer board representing the islands of St. Croix, St. Thomas, St. John and Water Island, the Humanities Council makes public and private funds available to support programs in the humanities for the benefit of the diverse population of the Virgin Islands.
