Primary entry point for information on the Library’s extensive collections of maps and atlases, including materials dealing with Australia and its various administrative subdivisions. Many of these have been digitized, and are available online at “Map Collections: 1500-2004"; these can be searched by keyword or place name. Printed materials can be searched via the Library’s online catalog.
Map Machine (National Geographic Society)
The Society’s online map collection can be browsed by location. The brief entry for Australia includes basic information and links to digitized National Geographic Society maps of the continent. Maps can also be searched by keyword or place name via the “Quick Map Search” on most Map Machine pages.
