An extensive compilation of resources covering phrases, proverbs, and quotations from ancient to modern times. A full citation is provided for the source of each quotation. Each resource can be searched individually or search all collectively:

Creative Quotations
Features a database of more than 50,000 proverbs and quotations by famous individuals. Users can search quotations by keyword, date or month, nationality, or profession. Citations are usually fairly complete.

Provides resources to help identify or find interesting quotations.

Provides a directory to sites devoted to quotations.

Quotations
Thousands of quotations organized by topic or speaker with a keyword search feature. Author of the quote is provided, along with one-sentence biographical information. There is rarely a specific citation to the exact source of the quote.

This site relates to the book of the same name and includes links to other recommended quotation sites, as well as a place to submit possible quotations for future editions of this book.
