Library hours Monday - Friday: 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Library usage is by appointment only. Please call 202 862-9539 to schedule an appointment. 2.) Photocopying There is a photocopy machine located around the corner to your left as you enter the Library. Copies are 10 cents per page. The machine is not coin-operated, so you may pay any of the Library staff members in cash or by check once you have finished. In case of large amounts, we can also bill your company. 3.) Library catalog The Library's card catalog is a divided catalog: author, title, and subject classification number. It covers ONLY Library materials acquired prior to 1990. For Serials and all materials acquired from 1990 to the present, there is an online catalog available on the computer terminal adjacent to the card catalog. The online catalog is a Microsoft Access database. Any Library staff member will be happy to instruct you in the use of the online catalog. With respect to the card catalog, an alphabetical index to its subject classification system (an adapted version of the Universal Decimal Classification system-similar to the Dewey Decimal System)is located in two rolodex files on top of the card catalog, and has corresponding subject numbers (i.e. Agriculture=446). Once you have located your research topic in the rolodex, find the corresponding number in the subject file drawers below. Publications relating to this topic will be found on cards with this subject number. The shelf number is on the lower right-hand side of the card. Please do not remove cards from the drawers. 4.) Periodicals All periodicals received by the Library are listed in the online Library catalog. 5.) Interlibrary Loans The Library follows standard ALA (American Library Association)interlibrary loan procedures. Completed ALA ILL forms should be submitted to Sergio Lopez, the Library Technician.
