Western Survey Photographs: A Checklist of the Stereographs from the Clarence King and George M. Wheeler Explorations, 1867-1874
Checklist 4
Stereographs from Lieutenant George M. Wheeler's Expedition of 1873, published in 1874
The 1873 stereographs, photographed by Timothy H. O'Sullivan, were published the following year on official War Department mounts. They range in number from 1 through 89, with a few gaps in the numerical sequence. The titles are transcribed here exactly as printed on the mounts. The stereographs are albumen silver prints on four-by-seven-inch mounts. All of the following stereographs are from the collection of the Library of Congress, unless otherwise noted.
