This bible, a facsimile of the one used at Abraham Lincoln's first inauguration on March 4, 1861, and by Barack Obama on January 20, 2009 and January 21, 2013, commemorates those historical events. The diminutive historical artifact was published by Oxford University Press in 1853 and has 1,280 pages. The Bible was originally purchased by William Thomas Carroll, clerk of the Supreme Court, and given to Lincoln to use in his first inauguration, as the Lincoln family Bible was in transit from Springfield, Illinois to Washington, D.C. Editor's note- The original Bible has considerable wear and fading on the outer covering. The uniqueness of this wear makes it impossible to duplicate, so it was decided to make the facsimile cover look in pristine condition as the Bible would have appeared in 1861. In all other respects this facsimile duplicates the original. Price: $50.00 Availability: Ships in 2-3 business days Product #: 21120283 |
