METS Profiles
METS Profiles are intended to describe a class of METS documents
in sufficient detail to provide both document authors and programmers
the guidance they require to create and process METS documents
conforming with a particular profile.
Registered Profiles
Institutions creating profiles
for their METS objects may register those profiles with the Library
of Congress Network Development and MARC Standards Office after
they are approved by the METS Editorial Board; such profiles will
be made publicly available so that those wishing to produce METS
documents in accordance with a particular institutions' requirements
may examine them.
Profiles Under Review
- The Ex Libris Rosetta METS Profile is available for public review and comment for the next two weeks, with the comment period extended to Monday, February 23, 2012. Rosetta uses the METS standard to describe Intellectual Entities (IE). The METS structure map allows describing hierarchy of files within a representation (for example, a logical table of contents of a book). The content files may be of any format type, e.g. audio, image, text, or video, and there can be any combination of formats within a single IE.
