2007)
Two announcements, re: a new schema and May METS meetings in Germany.
METS 1.6 Schema
The METS 1.6 schema, which was approved last November, has replaced
the METS 1.5 schema at http://www.loc.gov/standards/mets/mets.xsd
.
Changes from 1.5 to 1.6:
1. add ID to stream and transformFile
2. add ADMID to metsHdr
3. make smLink/@xlink:to and smLink/@xlink:from required
The METS Schema, & Documentation page on the website has been
re-organized:
http://www.loc.gov/standards/mets/mets-schemadocs.html
If you have ideas for the METS 1.7 Schema, which the METS Board
will discuss in May, please note them on the wiki http://www.socialtext.net/mim-2006/index.cgi?mets_1_7_change_requests and send a note to the METS listserv.
The new schema has been tested with all the METS samples from
all the registered profiles, but please report any problems you
think might be caused by the new schema.
