Dear METS Participant: Welcome to METS Opening Day United Kingdom. In preparation for your visit to the British Library on Monday, July 12, 2004, we are providing you with the following information. The conference will be held at the British Library Conference Center, 96 Euston Road, St Pancras, London NW1. Directions to the Library can be found at the following web site: http://www.bl.uk/about/locations/stpancras.html Air TravelLondon Heathrow Airport is approximately 20 minutes from central London by train and London Gatwick Airport is approximately 30 minutes from Central London. Train to and from London Heathrow and London Gatwick AirportsThose travelling to London Heathrow Airport should consider taking the Tube directly from the airport to King's Cross/St. Pancras station; the trip takes approximately an hour. From London Heathrow airport, you can also take the Heathrow Express to Paddington Station in London; from London Gatwick, you can take the Gatwick Express to Victoria Station. From Paddington or Victoria Station you can take a taxi or the Tube to the British Library at St. Pancras. It takes approximately 15 minutes to travel to Kings Cross/St. Pancras station from either Paddington Station or Victoria Station via the Tube.Note that the suggested hotels are within walking distance of the British Library.
