Implementation Details:
What repository workflows or functions does your PREMIS Metadata support? We plan to use PREMIS primarily for preservation watch and preservation actions.
What PREMIS data module entities are represented in your implementation? Object, Agent, Event, Rights. Object type "bitstream" is not represented.
How is preservation metadata stored in your repository? The metadata is stored twice : 1) in XML with the objects to be preserved (archival storage part of the system); it is included in the archival information package (AIP), and 2) in the MetadataStore (a relational database that supports XML).
What ancillary resources and tools do you use to support your PREMIS implementation? We plan to use each category, but they will be implemented in phases. We are currently working on the implementation of controlled vocabularies. We will use the PREMIS controlled vocabularies and as much as possible.
Is your preservation metadata created internally, imported from external sources, or both? It is created internally, but we might import it from external sources if available and if it meets our criteria.
Is your preservation metadata used only internally or is it shared with external organizations? It will primarily be used internally, but we are willing to share it with external organizations as well.
