Implementation Details:
What repository workflows or functions does your PREMIS Metadata support? We are prototyping so it doesn’t currently support any functions. When implemented, it would support core OAIS functions in all functional areas – Common Services, Ingest, Archival Storage, Data Management, Administration, Preservation Planning, and Access.
What PREMIS data module entities are represented in your implementation? Our project so far addresses object, event and rights – we will get to agent.
How is preservation metadata stored in your repository? Some with objects in XML-based DDI objects and some in a relational database.
What ancillary resources and tools do you use to support your PREMIS implementation? Controlled Vocabularies DDI-related Tools In-house tools, most community tools don’t extend to social science formats Extension Schemas DDI Registries DDI registries as they develop
Is your preservation metadata created internally, imported from external sources, or both? Both
Is your preservation metadata used only internally or is it shared with external organizations? We share it with our Data-PASS partners. Exchange format: Pieces of DDI and METS.
