Best Beef Stroganoff

This is a recipe that is a favorite of my family and friends. It is one of the first dishes I can ever recall my mother preparing, and the aroma of the slow cooking meal can still be recalled to my senses and carries with it early images of family contentment- my mother in the kitchen setting the perfect table, my brother coming in, exhausted, from a long day of playing outside, my father in his favorite recliner watching the race on TV... Food can contain so much more than nourishment, and the Best Beef Stroganoff, for me, encompasses the memories of a happy childhood. Try some and build your own collection of memories!

Ingredients

1lb stew beef
1 can Cream of Mushroom Soup
1 can Cream of Chicken Soup
1 cup sour cream
1 bag egg noodles

Preparation

Set oven to 300 degrees. In a tourine or casserole dish, stir together stew beef, cream of mushroom, and cream of chicken. Place in oven. Cook for three hours, stirring occasionally. After three hours, stir in sour cream. Let stand while you cook the egg noodles according to the package. Serve Stroganoff over noodles. It's that easy.
