Artichoke String Bean Cassarole

America, North: all

My recipe is important to me because my grandmother makes it for the holidays for when we go to parties. She usually makes it for Christmas and Thanksgiving. This recipe has been in my family for a long time and will probably stay for years to come.

2 cans of artichoke hearts (drained and choped)
2 cans of string beans (french or regular cut)
1/2 cup of olive oil
1 very large onion (choped fine)
3 toes of garlic (choped fine)
1 cup of progresso italian bread crumps
1 cup of parmarsean cheese (or Romano)

First you saute onions and garlic in olive oil until onions are transparent. Add artichoke hearts and string beans. Allow to simmer two to three minutes, add salt and pepper as desired. Add one cup of Italian bread crumbs, mix well and let simmer two to three minutes. Remove from heat and add cheese. Bake casserole about 40 minutes at 340 degrees . Then take it out and let cool off and enjoy!
