The TPS program at Quincy University will be hosting a Summer Institute Level One Training entitled "Making Literature Come Alive with Primary Sources." This series of workshops will help participating teachers to enhance the learning of literature through the use of primary sources. Content experts will guide participants in analyzing primary sources relating to important literary works such as Mark Twain’s The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. The TPS program at The Metropolitan State College of Denver, a member of the When History Happens consortium, will host a three-day conference on the college’s Auraria campus near downtown Denver. The When History Happens conference will help teachers to support historical inquiry connected to the 1908 Democratic National Convention held in Denver--an historical event that will be repeated in August when Denver hosts the 2008 Democratic National Convention (DNC).
