Speaker Biography: Erik Weihenmayer is a speaker, acrobatic skydiver, scuba diver, long distance biker, marathon runner, skier, mountaineer, ice climber and rock climber. He was the first blind man to reach the summit of Mount Everest, and he hopes to become one of the youngest people to climb all of the Seven Summits ? the highest peaks of each of the seven continents. In "Touch the Top of the World," Weihenmayer recounts his struggle to push past the limits placed on him by a seeing world. He is the recipient of several awards including the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Glaucoma Foundation. Weihenmayer lives with his family in Englewood, Colo.
