Speaker Biography: James McBride was a journalist for eight years at The Boston Globe, People Magazine and The Washington Post before moving to New York to pursue music. He wrote the critically acclaimed memoir, "The Color of Water" while working as a tenor saxophonist for the legendary Little Jimmy Scott. His book awards include the 1997 Anisfield-Wolf Book Award and the ALA Notable Book of the Year award. His most recent book is "Miracle At St. Anna," a historical novel set in Italy during World War II. He lives in Pennsylvania.
