Speaker Biography: David Macaulay's early interest in how objects are constructed led to experiments in creating books. He is the creator of the international best-seller "The Way Things Work: From Levers to Lasers, Cars to Computers -- A Visual Guide to the World of Machines." His books have won the Caldecott Medal and Honor Awards, the Boston Globe-Horn Book Award and an American Institute of Architects Medal. His most recent book is "Mosque." He lives with his family in Warren, R.I.
