Speaker Biography: Patricia MacLachlan has written numerous critically acclaimed books for children of all ages, including the 1986 Newbery Medal winner, "Sarah Plain and Tall," which later became a popular Hallmark Hall of Fame television movie. "Journey" and "Baby" were named American Library Association Notable Books and ALA Best Books for Young Adults. Recent books by MacLachlan are "Tomorrow's Wizard" and "Caleb's Story." She lives in Williamsburg, Mass.
