Speaker Biography: Patricia MacLachlan has written numerous critically acclaimed books for children of all ages including "Arthur, For the Very First Time", winner of the Golden Kite Award for fiction; and "Sarah, Plain and Tall", winner of the 1986 Newbery Medal and the subject of a popular television movie series. Her latest books are "Edward's Eyes" (Simon & Schuster, 2007) and "Fiona Loves the Night" (HarperCollins, 2007). MacLachlan is the recipient of the National Humanities Medal and lives in Williamsburg, Massachusetts.
