Speaker Biography: Jacqueline Woodson says that writing is what makes her happiest. From the time she was a child, she says, "I wrote on everything and everywhere." Her books have won the Newbery, Caldecott and Coretta Scott King awards, among others. Her latest book is "Peace, Locomotion" (2009), about two foster children who are forced to live in separate families after the death of their parents. Woodson lives in New York.
