Librarian of Congress Announces National Film Registry Selections for 1993

Librarian of Congress James H. Billington will announce the 1993 selections for the National Film Registry at a press conference at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 14, in the Mary Pickford Theater on the third floor of the Library's James Madison Memorial Building, 101 Independence Ave. SE.

Under the terms of the National Film Preservation Act of 1992, each year the Librarian of Congress, with advice from the National Film Preservation Board, names 25 films to the National Film Registry. The films are chosen because they are judged to be "culturally, historically, or aesthetically" significant.
