Library of Congress To Screen "Birth of a Nation" in Cooperation with the Washington D.C. International Film Festival

The Library of Congress will present a screening of D.W. Griffith's 1915 silent movie classic "The Birth of a Nation" in cooperation with the Washington D.C. International Film Festival on Sunday, April 24, 1994. (Further details will be available at a later date.)

On Monday, April 25, at 3 p.m., the film will be screened again at the Library of Congress Mary Pickford Theater. Later that day, a symposium on the significance of the film and its continuing power to ignite controversy is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in the Mumford Room of the Madison Building.
