Sixth "Decade of the Brain" Symposium Set for Feb.7
The Library of Congress and the National Institute of Mental Health will cosponsor the sixth in a series of symposia on brain research on Tuesday, February 7 beginning at 10 a.m. the Great Hall of the Thomas Jefferson Building. The subject is "The Adaptable Brain."
Four distinguished scientists will address the topic in the following order:
Michael M. Merzenich, UC San Francisco: "Brain Plasticity Origins of Human Abilities and Disabilities"
Roger A. Nicoll, UC San Francisco: "In Search of the Molecules of Memory"
Richard W. Tsien, Stanford University: "New Insights into Communication Among Brain Cells"
Antonio R. Damasio, University of Iowa: "Emotion, Memory and Social Behavior"
