Library of Congress Adds 10th Publication to Cataloger's Desktop
The very popular Cataloger's Desktop has been enhanced. Now included is the full text of the 10th publication -- the updated 1994 version of the USMARC Format for Bibliographic Data. USMARC Format for Bibliographic Data explains all field codes used for record creation and shows all fields that changed as a result of format integration. The new files that will be added to Desktop in 1995 are Music Cataloging Decisions and the 1995 edition of Subject Cataloging Manual: Shelflisting.
Cataloger's Desktop provides catalogers with many advantages. As a single CD-ROM, Cataloger's Desktop gives catalogers the ability to locate rules and citations quickly and easily. By using Cataloger's Desktop, users can catalog with increased efficiency. Files can be customized to suit cataloging needs. The creation of personalized files can be initialized by a user password. Personalized "post-it" notes, bookmarks, highlighting, and links can be added. The notes can also be applied to each update of the product without filing new pages or manually transferring important information.
Cataloger's Desktop prices: single user, $870 in North America, and $875 outside North America. Each additional simultaneous user: $160 in North America and outside North America (includes additional set of documentation).
To order Cataloger's Desktop, to request either a 3.5-inch demonstration diskette or a demonstration CD-ROM (both are free), or to receive a copy of the system requirements, contact: Library of Congress, Cataloging Distribution Service, Customer Services Section-LCCN, P.O.
