The Library of Congress's National Digital Library (NDL) Program will be highlighted at a news conference and a visual demonstration of the program.
The Library has embarked on a plan to raise a total of $45 million toward this effort in private contributions. The goal is to digitize 5 million items by the year 2000, in collaboration with other major research institutions. During this news conference, CEO George Fisher of Eastman Kodak will donate the first installment of a $1 million gift to the NDL Program.
