Author to Discuss Books on Donald Trump and Martha Stewart on Oct. 25
Robert Slater, business journalist and author, will discuss "The Hazards and Joys of Writing Books on Donald Trump and Martha Stewart: One Author’s Perspective" at the Library of Congress at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 25, in the Mumford Room on the sixth floor of the James Madison Building, 101 Independence Ave. S.E., Washington, D.C.
Sponsored by the Science, Technology and Business Division, the event is free and open to the public; no reservations are required. Copies of Slater’s new book, "No Such Thing as Over-exposure: Inside the Life and Celebrity of Donald Trump" (Prentice Hall, 2005), will be available for purchase. A book signing will follow the lecture.
Slater has been a reporter for UPI, Newsweek and Time, working both in the United States and the Middle East. As a leading biographer, his books have chronicled such notables as former Israeli Prime Ministers Golda Meir and Yitzhak Rabin, General Electric’s Jack Welch, Microsoft’s Bill Gates, Hollywood agent Michael Ovitz and Wall Street investor George Soros.
Slater’s new book, "Martha: On Trial, In Jail and On a Comeback," is due out January 2006.
