Author of "The Woman Road Warrior" to Speak April 21
Kathleen Ameche will share travel tips, tricks and traps from her recent book, "The Woman Road Warrior: The Working Women’s Guide to Business Travel," at the Library of Congress at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, April 21, in the West Dining Room on the sixth floor of the James Madison Building, 101 Independence Ave. S.E., Washington, D.C.
The event, sponsored by the Library’s Science, Technology and Business Division, is free and open to the public; no reservations are required.
Ameche is a former vice president of the Tribune Company, one of the nation’s top media firms. Traveling nearly two million miles during her career, Ameche has faced all kinds of challenges and nightmares, including being held at gunpoint. Instead of letting her travel experiences take their toll, she has published a comprehensive guide on how to travel successfully. In "The Woman Road Warrior," she highlights information that women need to ensure first-class treatment on the road, including airline upgrades, booking hotel suites and exploring the pros and cons of using online travel Web sites rather than a traditional travel agent.
Ameche is president of the Ameche Group, a company she founded to be a champion for businesswomen. She has been a guest speaker at conferences, seminars and universities, and has held board positions with the Girl Scouts of America and Loyola University.
