The Veterans History Project is
engage in an ongoing collaboration with the American Folklore
Society to provide
a naional network of professional Oral Historians
and Folklorists for workshop leaders.
These workshops, which are designed to increase participants'
understanding of the personal aspects of oral history interviewing
and the technical aspects of audio and video documentation, as
well as the specifics of VHP guidelines so that interviews may
be included in the archives at the Library of Congress. Workshops
usually run for two and a half to three hours and will use Veterans
History Project-developed instructional materials for interviewers
as a basic text and guide. Partners who request, receive and
host workshops provide the venue, and the participants. Typically
workshops can accomodate
between 20 and 60 particpants.
