These are exciting times in our great nation, a time in which challenges and opportunities abound for those with the skills and talents needed to lead our nation's Government. With about half the government's workforce eligible to retire in the next 5 years, there will be excellent employment opportunities for those prepared, especially at the Library of Congress.
As the largest library in the world, the Library of Congress not only stores 121 million items on approximately 530 miles of bookshelves, but also meets the information research and analysis needs of Congress. This vast and important task has created a wealth of employment opportunities.
To help fill these employment needs and to enrich the education experiences of students, the Library has established a number of fellowships and internships in: conservation, library science, policy analysis and research, computer science, business administration and cultural preservation.
The need for a competent, motivated and dedicated Federal workforce has never been greater. We encourage you to consider the array of employment opportunities at the Library of Congress.
