Note added at the end of the combined Attribute List indicating that the digital object and data element attributes listed "provide structural metadata support for photographs, text document images, raster maps, and SGML encoded text documents...[and that] additional attributes needed to support other types of material (e.g., recorded sound and motion video) will be added as they are defined."   4. "Dictionary Format" portion of the introduction to the Structural Metadata Dictionary reworded to reflect the combination of attribute lists into one. (05/29/97)

  5. Introduction to Data Attribute List reworded to reflect the combination of attribute lists into one. (05/29/97)

  6. "Separate Restriction Statement" added to list in Rights and Permissions attribute definition. (07/07/97)

  7. "Side" added to PAGE TYPE attribute definition. Indicates which side of a page, sheet, or leaf is represented by the original content from which a data element's data content was derived. "Side" also added to the example table in the attribute devinition for PAGE VALUE. (07/10/97)

  8. The attribute Associated File changed to a group attribute having Associated File Type and Associated File Name as subattributes. Associated File definition reworded to reflect change. Definitions added for Associated File Type and Associated File Name. (10/16/97)

  9. The list of recognized values for attribute Data Type changed to include RealAudio (RA). (10/14/97)

  10. The definition of attribute Associated File changed indicate that it can be used for digital elements having the Data Type "RA." (10/14/97)

  11. The first sentence of the glossary definition for Naming Authority changed to include the phrase "particularly with regard to the assigning of persistent identifiers to digital objects." (12/04/97)
