Other decisions:
Agricultural exhibitions
The heading Agricultural exhibitions has a scope note stating that these exhibitions are "often combined with carnival-like entertainment." There does not seem to be any need or reason to link this heading to Carnivals, which is the heading for genuine carnivals, since there is unlikely to be any confusion or association between the two headings or any need to assign both to the same work. The proposal was not approved.
Earthquakes--Aftershocks
The proposed heading was changed to the phrase form Earthquake aftershocks (May Subd Geog). The proposals to establish the subdivision --Aftershocks under various individual earthquakes were not approved. Works about the aftershocks of a specific earthquake should be assigned two headings: (1) [name of the earthquake], and (2) Earthquake aftershocks--[place].
Internet in wineries
The item that generated the proposal is about the use of the Internet in marketing wine. Instead of the proposed heading, the meeting approved a new free-floating subdivision --Internet marketing (May Subd Geog) to be used under types of commodities, products, and services. In this case, the heading Wine--Internet marketing may be assigned.
