Subject Headings
Art furniture
The work being cataloged deals with furniture of the 20th and 21st centuries. However, the Art and Architecture Thesaurus indicates that the term art furniture first came into usage in the middle of the 19th century for a specific style of furniture. Further research is needed to determine the appropriate heading for the work. The proposal may be resubmitted if needed.
English literature--Gay authors
The proposed heading is covered by the existing heading Gays' writings, English. The proposal was not approved.
Foreign universities and colleges
This heading is potentially ambiguous and would need a scope note to explain its meaning. However, the book uses the term "external" to refer to educational institutions outside of the public national system. Since the work includes local private institutions the proposed heading does not match the coverage of the work being cataloged. The proposal was not approved.
Philosophy, Asian, in science
It seems more desirable to assign separate headings for Philosophy, Asian and for Science--Philosophy. The proposal was not approved.
United Airlines Flight 93 Hijacking Incident, 2001
The UF references proposed here duplicate terminology used in other references and so are not necessary. The proposed BT reference Aircraft accidents is not appropriate. The proposed changes were not approved.
Yukon Territory--Antiquities and related headings
These proposals reflect the change in the name heading from Yukon Territory to Yukon. Additional headings where this place appears in the reference structure will be revised as a project and will not appear on the weekly list.
