Other decisions:
Livestock farms
There are several existing heading, such as Dairy farms, Horse farms, Sheep farms, etc., for which this proposed heading would be appropriate as a broader term. This proposal may be resubmitted together with proposals to revise the broader term references on those existing headings.
Snakebites--Treatment
The subdivision --Treatment is free-floating under diseases and other medical conditions, including wounds and injuries (see H 1150). Since bites and stings are a type of wound or injury, the subdivision is free-floating under the heading Snakebites, and the proposal is not necessary.
Telecommunication networks; Telecommunication networks--Law and legislation
Since the item being cataloged is specifically about the legal aspects of fiber optic telecommunication networks, it appears that a more specific heading should be established than the one that was proposed. In addition, the existing heading Telecommunication systems appears to have been used for telecommunication networks in general. If it is judged that a separate heading for telecommunication networks is needed, a scope note explaining the distinction between the two headings would be appropriate. Also, it would be appropriate to use the new heading as a broader term on several existing headings, such as Passive optical networks, Computer networks, and possibly others, and the existing reference Telecommunication systems--Performance USE Network performance (Telecommunication) would need to be revised. The law cataloger who proposed the heading should work in consultation with the appropriate technology cataloger to resolve all of these issues and resubmit the proposal.
