Medieval world maps
There is already an existing heading for World maps--Early works to 1800 which would cover the concept of the proposed heading. It appears that the concept in the work being cataloged is a specific type of map called mappa mundi. A proposal for that map type may be resubmitted.
Microfossils; Microorganisms, Fossil; and related headings
It is unclear how the proposed headings are related to the existing heading Acritarchs. After that issue is investigated and the appropriate relationship determined, the headings may be resubmitted.
Montreal Cotton Company Strike, Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, Québec, 1946
The heading for this strike is established by the National Library of Canada under the name of the Dominion Textile Company. It is generally desirable to follow the choice of Canadian terminology in this situation. If the Montreal Cotton Company is preferable for the heading, an explanation should be included. The proposal may be resubmitted.
Political prisoners' writings, Palestinian Arab
Headings for Palestinian Arab literature are constructed by using the appropriate heading for Arabic literature with geographic subdivision for Palestine. The proposed heading would be constructed as Political prisoners' writings, Arabic--Palestine. It appears that the more general heading Prisoners' writings, Arabic--Palestine has been used for this material in the past. The bibliographic records with that heading should be reviewed for update if a more specific heading for the writings of political prisoners is desired. The proposal may be resubmitted.
Shahtoosh industry and trade
The heading for the product should be established in order to construct a heading for the industry. It appears that a heading for shahtoosh shawls is needed. The industry heading would then be constructed as Shahtoosh shawl industry. Current headings for industry no longer include "and trade". The proposal may be resubmitted.
World Trade Center (São Paulo, Brazil)
This appears to be a corporate name and so should be established as a name heading. The proposal was not approved.
