Subject Headings

Haitian French Creole …

The wording of this proposed general reference is so complex that most cataloger users might find it difficult to understand or interpret. Since only a small number of headings of this type have been established, the meeting decided to add individual UF references to each of the established headings rather than create a general see reference. These references will be added offlist. The proposal was not approved.

Lunda language

Since the Londo language is a separate and distinct language from Lundo, the proposed references are not appropriate. A proposal to establish a heading for the Londo language may be resubmitted.

Nordstrom family—Recipes

The Subject Headings Manual, H 1475, sec. 6, specifies that subject headings appropriate to the content of the work should be assigned to collections of recipes used by  members of individual organizations or otherwise related to an individual corporate body. An additional subject heading may be assigned for the individual corporate body if the work contains substantial information about the body. This same principle should be followed in connection with recipes associated with a particular family. H 1475 will be revised to clarify this point. The proposal was not approved.
