Subject Headings

Angelus Temple (Los Angeles, Calif.)

The Angelus Temple is a church as well as a building. As such, it should be established as a name heading. The name heading may then be used for works about both the institution and the building. The proposal to establish it as a subject heading was not approved.

Dzongkha literature

The proposed UF is not a standard reference that is made for a heading of this type. In addition, it is not accurate, since Dzongkha is spoke not only in Bhutan, but in other parts of the Himalaya Region as well. It was not approved.

Querétaro Mountain (Mexico)

This proposal conflates two different entities. Cerro Querétaro is a single mountain peak located in the state of Oaxaca. The Sierra de Querétaro is a mountain range located in the states of Querétaro and Guanajuato. The latter is an alternate name for the Sierra Gorda, which is already established as a subject heading. The item being cataloged appears to be about the Sierra de Querétaro. If that is the case, the heading Sierra Gorda (Mexico) can be assigned to the work, and a proposal can be resubmitted to add the UF Sierra de Querétaro (Mexico) to that heading.
