Classification

Changes were made as indicated on the approved list.

Subject Headings

           College orations, American

The heading College orations has not been qualified to date, and the meeting does not wish to start the pattern. For the work being cataloged the heading College orations may be post-coordinated with Speeches, addresses, etc., American. The proposal was not approved.

Effeminacy in sports

The topic of effeminacy in sports may be brought out by the assignment of the heading Effeminacy, which was approved on this list, along with a heading for the specific sport being discussed. The proposal was not approved.

Mama Hatun Turbesi (Tercan, Turkey)

The free-floating subdivision –Tomb may be used under names of individual persons (see Subject Headings Manual H 1110). The heading Mama Hatun, Queen of Erzurum, d. ca. 1201—Tomb should be applied to the work being cataloged. The proposal was not approved.

Wholeness therapy

This proposal does not include enough evidence to determine whether wholeness therapy is distinct from holistic therapy. The cataloger should do research in authoritative reference works to determine whether there indeed is a difference. A proposal for wholeness therapy may be resubmitted if it is found to be different from holistic therapy; if there is no difference between the two then a UF may be proposed for the existing heading Holistic therapy.

Wine—Selecting and serving

The subdivision “–Selecting and serving” has never been used in LCSH, and the meeting does not wish to establish the precedent. The work being cataloged appears to be a handbook for sommeliers, to which the heading Sommeliers—Handbooks, manuals, etc. may be assigned.
