The Microfilm Preservation Program

The New Delhi Office preserves in microformat a large number of publications acquired by the Library's overseas offices. The Microfilm Preservation Program includes publications that are:

  • published on poor quality paper that will not last long,
  • issued in non-stable techniques such as mimeograph, xerox, etc.,
  • of greater research value if organized as a collection and microformatted together rather than treated as individual items.
