This is the earliest railroad map represented in the Library's map collections. It is listed as one of the "Rail Roads Never Before Delineated" by Henry S. Tanner in his Memoir on the Recent Surveys ... (Philadelphia, 1829). It was incorporated in June 1831 and was first intended forhorse-drawn power. [From published bibliography]
