Learn about the history of the unique connection between Congress and the Veterans History Project (VHP), as well as the human component of how VHP creates an environment where veterans not only share their stories, but also capture them for posterity in a safe space. VHP helps veterans share written records, oral recordings and photos, and facilitates access to the Library’s collections for research, education and a variety of other reasons. Explore ways to connect with a veteran by: capturing veteran’s stories in various ways, hosting VHP community workshops, or simply learning how to access VHP resources and collections. Learn about planned events to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the legislation that authorized the Veterans History Project, as well as exciting contributions to next year’s 20th anniversary of the National Book Festival.
