Mario Livio

The writing of Mario Livio has received numerous accolades. His 2009 book, “Is God a Mathematician?,” was selected by The Washington Post as one of the best books of the year and was adapted into the program “The Great Math Problem,” which received an Emmy nomination. His recent books, “Brilliant Blunders” and “Why? What Makes Us Curious,” both became bestsellers. Livio has published more than 400 scientific papers on a variety of subjects about space, mathematics and anything in between, from cosmology to dark energy. His new book is “Galileo: And the Science Deniers” (Simon & Schuster), a new interpretation of the life of Galileo Galilei, one of history’s greatest and most fascinating scientists; it sheds new light on his discoveries and how he was challenged by science deniers.
