Biography Jon Scieszka
Born with a Polish surname that means “path,” Jon Scieszka followed a career path from teaching in New York schools to writing books for children. Among his many books are "The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales" and "The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs!" He is also the creator of the Guys Read website, designed to appeal to boys, who typically read less than girls and at a lower proficiency level. His new book (with illustrator Steven Weinberg) is “AstroNuts Mission Two: The Water Planet” (Chronicle). Scieszka was the Library of Congress’s first National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature.
