Sarah Scoles is a science journalist and author of “They Are Already Here: UFO Culture and Why We See Saucers” (Pegasus), an anthropological look at the UFO community. Scoles seeks to understand how this often derided community, captivated by cosmic mystery, may reflect the politics and culture of the world around them. Scoles is a former editor at Astronomy magazine, and her work has appeared in numerous publications, including The Atlantic, The Washington Post, Scientific American, Aeon and Wired. Scoles previously worked at the National Radio Astronomy Observatory, the location of the first-ever SETI project.
