Kelli Jo Ford is the author of the novel “Crooked Hallelujah” (Grove), which received the University of Central Oklahoma’s 2019 Everett Southwest Literary Award and was named a New York Times Editors’ Choice and one of Time magazine’s must-read books of 2020. Ford has also received a Katharine Bakeless Nason Award in Fiction, a Plimpton Prize and a National Artist Fellowship. Ford has published her stories in The Missouri Review, Virginia Quarterly Review and The Paris Review. She works as an editor, a freelance writer and a professor of fiction at Santa Fe’s Institute of American Indian Arts. She is a citizen of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma.
