A Perfect Game
When Yankees journeyman pitcher Don Larsen hurled the only perfect game in World Series play, Stanley Elsas of Birmingham, Alabama, happened to catch the historic event while in New York City on business. The program cover features Yankees manager Casey Stengel, top, and Brooklyn Dodgers skipper Walter Alston; the interior is replete with advertisements for cigarettes and alcoholic beverages.
